Project Summary

As the Lead Designer, I was responsible for producing two bi-monthly magazines: “Credit Strategy” and “Rewards Strategy”, aimed at professionals in the credit, financial, payroll, HR and reward sectors.

During my 7 years at Shard Financial Media, I designed over 100 magazines (both print and digital) for Reward Strategy and Credit Strategy.

Responsibilities included editorial planning, conceptualising and creating magazine covers, laying out pages, and creating in-house advertisements.

Design Approach

I wanted to ensure that the design of the magazines reflected their respective themes and audiences.

For “Credit Strategy”, I opted for a more serious and business-like approach, with a clean and simple design that emphasised readability and clarity.

For “Reward Strategy”, I went for a more colourful and engaging approach, with bright colours, playful graphics, and dynamic layouts that were easy on the eyes and appealed to the magazine's readers.

“Credit Strategy” is a magazine that provides comprehensive coverage of the credit industry, offering insights into key developments, trends, and issues.

The content is focused on delivering a range of news, analysis, and features to keep readers informed and up-to-date.

The magazine readers include senior professionals in credit management, finance directors, credit risk and collections managers, and insolvency practitioners.

Reward Strategy Magazine

“Reward Strategy” is a magazine that provides in-depth coverage of the payroll, HR and rewards industry.

The content is focused on delivering the latest news, interviews, and features, as well as expert commentary and opinion pieces.

The magazine readers include senior HR professionals, payroll managers, finance directors, reward and benefits managers, and pensions experts.

Conclusion

Designing “Credit Strategy” and “Reward Strategy” magazines was a challenging yet a rewarding project.

As Lead Designer, I was able to bring together my expertise in design to create two successful publications that were well received by their respective audiences.

The magazines provided valuable insights and information to our readers and helped them stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in their respective industries.
